HOW TO ENTER

If you competed in September, you already have membership and Rodeo Results account...go to the Rodeo Results app, click on Rodes, Upcoming, find your HPA event and enter.  If this is your first event proceed with directions below.

We require all competitors to be members.

There is a one-time $20 membership fee to join. 

When you submit the membership you will:

  •  Read and digitally sign a Release of Liability

  • Upload a photo of the competitor's birth certificate.  This ensures they are competing in the correct age group.  We age our competitors as of July 1, 2025.

  • Upload a current Coggins test for all horses that will be on the premises.

It is your responsibility to read the rules for our organization and events which can be found on the Playday Event Info tab.​​​

2025-2026 PLAYDAY SERIES RELEASE OF LIABILITY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF DANGERS, RISKS, AND HAZARDS OF RODEO ACTIVITIES ON THE LAVACA EXPOSITION/WILBUR BABER MEMORIAL COMPLEX PREMISES

Under Texas Law, Chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risk of equine activities.

I, the authority of this membership, hereby acknowledge that I have knowingly and willingly entered an agreement with the Hallettsville Playday Association, hereafter referred to as HPA, becoming a party bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement by and between the HPA and the member.

BY SUBMITTING THIS ENTRY I am in agreement and fully understand the terms, provisions, and condition of this agreement and waiver, its warnings, and agree to abide by its terms, provisions, and conditions.

I/We, as participant and/or parent/legal guardian(s) of minor participant(s) under the age of 18, who has SUBMITTED THIS ENTRY, depose and say that the stated member(s) is/are capable rodeo performer(s) and hereby give my permission for them to partake in any event/activity of the HPA.

By SUBMITTING THIS ENTRY, I hereby release the HPA and its officers, directors, workers, stock contractors, sponsors, the Lavaca Exposition Center/Wilbur Baber Memorial Complex of Hallettsville, and the respective heirs, agents, representatives, successors or assigns of each entity or organization from liability for any and all property damage, personal injuries, death, or other claims arising from participation in HPA events/activities.

This document serves to warn me that dangers conditions, risks, and hazards do exist.  I/We, the stated members understand and agree that my/our presence and/or participation in activities at the Lavaca Exposition Center/Wilbur Baber Memorial complex of Hallettsville expose myself/ourselves and my/our property to dangerous conditions, risks, and hazards including but not limited to: poisonous snakes, insects, spiders, buildings, gates, and improvements whether or not erected by HPA; erosion and general land conditions, animals both wild and domestic, that may be diseased and/or potentially dangerous; and any other unforeseen act of man or nature which may be hazardous and life threatening to myself/ourselves or my/our property.

By SUBMITTING THIS ENTRY I hereby acknowledge and agree that I/We am/are aware of these facts and expressly assume all such dangers, risks and hazards associated with them, and agree to hold HPA and the Lavaca Exposition Center/Wilbur Baber Memorial Complex harmless from these conditions whether or not injury or death to a listed member or my/our property are caused.

This release applies during the time that stated members are permitted on the arena/park premises.  I hereby further covenant and agree that said members, their heirs, successors and assigns, will not make any claim or institute any suit or action at law or in equity against HPA, the City of Hallettsvillle, Lavaca Exposition Association, Inc., their respective heirs, agents, representatives, successors, or assigns by reason of conditions of the arena or premises, or any activities occurring thereon, whether or not caused by their negligence.

I also agree to release and hold HPA harmless for publishing and distribution of photographs of the member/contestant.

​Create your Account​​

  • Each contestant will need an email address to create their own account.  If you are using a parent's email, make sure the contestant's name is on the profile (not the parent's name-this is the name on the entry).  If they do not have an email, create a dummy email like FirstnameLastname@rodeoresults.com.  It can be updated later if needed.

  • ​You will need to add a horse to the roster.  Rodeo Results track performance by competitor and by horse.  HPA doesn't require a horse to be specified, but the app requires it for entry so it can track performance.  Also, the horse's name cannot be a duplicate of a name in the Rodeo Results registry, or it will not let you add the horse.  If you are using your horse's "barn name" instead of a registered name you may run into a "duplicate horse" error and need to be creative with your horse's name (for instance, instead of Joe, call him Amy's Joe").  If you are entering an event without a horse, make something up!

Enter the Event

  • Select the "Rodeo" tab

  • Click on Upcoming at the bottom of the screen and find the HPA event.

  • Check the events you want to enter      SELECT THE APPROPRIATE AGE GROUP AS OF JULY 1, 2025.

  • Click PAY to submit payment​

Pre-Entry is REQUIRED!

No entries will be accepted the day of the event. The deadline to pre-enter will be the Wednesday before the playday by 11pm.  The books will be closed at this time.  The run order will be posted Friday evening after 5pm.  Any contestants contacting HPA to enter after the books have closed and before the run order has been posted will be charged a $50 late fee per contestant.  Late fees are earmarked to fund our Scholarships.. No late entries will be accepted after the run order has posted on Friday. ​
